Ciannait stopped in front of the door. "Mes, is this the room?" She questioned.

Veer was about to give a possibility, but stopped, also listening. "...Outside our door?"

"It is." Meslade confirmed. Tilting his head to the side, he added, "They know we're here."

Ciannait blinked. "Ah, alright then." She rapped on the door quietly.

Veer stood. "...Well, should I get it?"

Amania considered it for a moment before nodding, "If they want to harm us, they had plenty of time when we were sleeping. And if they're polite enough to knock... I think it should be fine."

Nevertheless she stood up and joined Veer's side. She didn't feel assured enough to let him deal with it alone.

Veer opened the door, and blinked. Somehow, he didn't find a small young girl in pajamas and a blind demon very threatening.

Ciannait put her hands on her hips, tail twitching. "Okay, let me be completely straightforward here. Are you drawing as many blanks as we are?"

(Ciannait is so no-nonsense. XDD)

Amania looked down and the girl and couldn't help smiling. This little thing was too fierce for her own good... just like herself. "We are. And we kind of know why. From the look on your face, I can tell you know something as well... So... I suppose it'd be best that we exchange information?"

Behind Ciannait, Meslade was turning his head from side to side. "Hurry," He whispered, "Someone's coming this way."

Amania raised an eyebrow, "Well, we don't mind sharing a room with you, if it needs be."

Ciannait glanced back at Meslade, and then at Amania and nodded. "That's probably best then." She replied.

Veer moved out of the doorway for the two, and Ciannait, holding Meslade's hand, stalked past into the room.

After the odd pair had arranged themselves in the room and the danger had walked past, Amania looked at them. "So yeah. What do you have to offer?"

Meslade's ears twitched. He exchanged a squeeze of the hand with Ciannait, and told them what he had told her earlier.

Veer blinked. "So there's a lot of people here, then? Well, I guess that makes sense if they are really wanting to gather an army-"

"An army?" Ciannait shot him a look. "What army?"

Veer scratched the back of his head. "Oh, ah, that's the thing... Part of the blank. A girl recruiting an army to fight the deities more or less dragged us here..."

Jian jolted awake. Or well, into consciousness or whatever a stone being that couldn't really 'sleep' could do. He quickly grew worried, glancing around the room. He was on the floor, but there was a bed resting nearby and many fancy objects scattered about. It reminded him of the Rosephere's mansion, but yet had so much of a different air.

Where was he and how did he get there? No one could easily carry him in... A-and was he asleep? But he couldn't sleep. He was a gargoyle. Unless someone messed with the life-giving stone-

He moved his fingers worriedly over the bandage that now concealed the glowing red stone, and realized he was changed out of the nice clothing that Ely had given him...

"E-ely!" He called out worriedly, getting up from where he was on the floor and moving over to the bed.

Meslade looked thoughtful. "They could have just talked... What did they go through all this troubles for? Drug us, then take us to this... this fortress."

He hung his head and started twirling his fingers one around another, "... A-And... we're not formidable people... I-I meant... I'm not that strong to be relied on, after all..."

Red greeted Jian's vision: Ely was lying on the bed, his braids falling loose. Like Jian, he was no longer in his elegant clothes, but a sort of loose white robe. Not reacting to Jian's call, he lied still in place with his eyes closed. For a nightmare demon to fall so deeply asleep was sure not a very normal thing.

Cian nudged Meslade. "Cut that out." She hissed.

Veer blinked. "I-I really have no clue. Whatever the case, were were brought here for a reason... As I was going to suggest before, maybe it's... some sort of test?"

Jian grew worried. He nudged Ely softly with his hand, wanting to wake him up.

Meslade started, blushing, and stopped twirling his fingers. "A-All right..." He mumbled miserably.

Veer's remark seemed to make him forget about being sheepish. "A-A test? You meant as in... making us all compete against each other?"

Ely's fingers start twitching softly, his eyebrows furrowed, and then his eyes slowly opened. "Jian..." He whispered and sat up, clutching his head. "My head... it's splitting into two... What's happening? Where are we?"

Veer blinked. "Er, I'm not sure if it's that kind of test, maybe it's just one where they leave us to our own devices and see where we get. I'm not sure if it even is a test, it's just a theory after all."

Ciannait's tail twitched. "Gah, I'm hating whoever brought us here more and more."

Jian gave him a worried look. "Iunno. Iunno anything. We're just... Iunno." He sat back sadly.

Meslade relaxed, and started to shame over his over-reaction. "How far we get... in this mansion...?"

Amania gave a snicker. "I don't know about you, but there's no stopping me in this."

Ely fixed his gaze on Jian for a moment, then climbed off the bed and sat next to him. "It's okay, Jian." He whispered softly, patting the gargoyle on the back. "We'll have this figured out."

His head jerked up in alarm as he heard footsteps approaching. Someone was heading for their direction.

Veer scratched his head. "Er, well, yes. How far we get in the mansion. Or how far we gather information. Something like that..."

He glanced at Amania. "I wasn't going to stop you. I think this is a case where we have to go in it together."

Jian glanced up at Ely questioningly. "...What's wrong?"

Amania looked thoughtful. "Well, if what this young mister here said is true, then we'll need to sit down and think of a plan. We must get to know what's awaiting us out there, as well."

She gave Ciannait and Meslade an evaluating look. "I don't know if they would be checking to see if we're in our rooms... In any case, if we are to carry out investigations, we need a way to communicate. He, Meslade, can hear what we say, but then what about us?"

Quickly checking the blades on his braids, Ely replied, "Trying to talk to them like civilized people would, I guess."

Ciannait glanced around. There was a lot of reflective surfaces, but little mirrors. Her gaze finally settled on a long mirror in a corner, ornate with border painted on and gold around it. Unceremoniously, she went over and punched it as hard as she could, the surface cracking. "There, two pieces of mirror." Ciannait replied, shaking her now bleeding knuckle.

Jian nodded. "...Okay." He offered, then waited as the door opened, and a white-haired maid walked in, stopping in surprise when she saw Ely and Jian up.

Amania was almost startled at the little girl's move. Laughing, she walked to Ciannait and took her bleeding hand. "Don't waste your blood and strength like that, you'll need them." Even before finish saying that, the witch had healed up the cuts. She patted on Ciannait's hand. "Now let me see..."

She walked to the mirror, yanking out two shards. Spontaneously, she cast two spells: One to smooth the edges of the glass shards, and one to link them together. Holding out one piece to Veer, she asked him to look into it, and looked at the other piece.

What happened was that they found themselves looking at each other from the mirror.

"Greetings, miss." Ely stood up straight. "I would like to ask where we are, and how we got here, if you don't mind. Then I'd like to move on to other questions, but for the time being..." He fixes his crimson glare on her.

Veer blinked, and chuckled. "That'll work."

Ciannait was surprised about how quickly she was healed, and admired her knuckle. "...Right," She moved over to where Meslade was, and glanced at the door. "So that's how we're going to keep in touch?"

She grew nervous under the Incubus's glare, straightening out her skirt nervously. "U-um, s-sorry, I'm not supposed to speak to you..."

Amania nodded and gave Ciannait the piece of mirror she was holding. "Keep this," she said, "You two can go ahead and explore this place, now. We'll do it too, on our way. We'll see each other some time soon."

Ely's stare never wavered; he doesn't blink, after all. "I understand. At least, I'd like to know what is expected of us. If that much if not possible either, I'd like to talk to someone who can answer, please."

Ciannait looked at the mirror, and then up at Amania and nodded. "...Thanks," She offered. She took Meslade's hand. "Let's go."

...

The woman, although growing nervous underneath Ely's stare only shook her head. "I-I can't answer any of your questions..."

Jian looked hurt. "Why not?"

The woman only shook her head more briskly, hurrying to do what she original was there to do, going over to a dresser and pulling out one of the drawers and placing something inside before hurrying towards the door again.
