Two Worlds: Round Three

The voice sounded surprised. "Gosh, you bring a little boy around with you to the battlefield? That's pretty reckless."

"I'll make it short." The yellow-eyed boy drew back a little, allowing Agapeto to get a full view of him. "What you and your brother have been doing is meaningless. You have been tricked into doing something that wouldn't do you any good, nor would it revenge the lost members of your family. We are not the ones that ravaged the Giada family. But we know who did."

"Less reckless than you might think. It was the boy's own fault he got hurt." He replied curtly.

...

Agapeto blinked at him. "Really? Well... We were never sure who was the cause of it..."

"So you bring little boys to the battle field with you, and expect them to take care of themselves?" The girl chucked loudly. "Even us dirty assassins - to quote directly from you - don't do such things. However... we do know people besides than you who would."

The sounds of footsteps sounded again, as if the girl was dancing on tip toes. "Try to remember, the people that killed your sister... Were they very old?"

At the same moment, the very same question was being phrased.

"Tch. I thought, as bounty hunters, you should have gotten informations about it. Try to remember, the people that killed your sister... Were they very old?"

Agapito snorted. "I wasn't there to see her killed. My brother was. Oh, but he's dead, isn't he." He said bitterly.

...

Agapeto hesitated. "...No, they weren't." He replied. "Not that I remember."

"Don't you go blaming us for that." Rósaszín suddenly appeared again, breathing hotly into Agapito's ear. "You were the one who picked a fight on us. And you know what. We still have lots of surprises for you."

"Think harder." Memphis ordered. "As you can see, we, the Duochromatics, only dress black. The ones who killed your sister... Weren't they a lot more colorful? Was there a fire at your mansion, when the assassination took place? Weren't those people brighter than the fire?"

"You're blaming the wrong person, then." Agapito said blandly. "We didn't start the fight. We only followed Sera."

...

"..." Agapeto nodded. "...Yeah. They were in bright clothing. I remember."

"You're telling us to blame on specifically that Sera person of yours? Then, why don't you blame your sister's death on a specific someone, rather than blaming us all? We know the exact person you should blame~!"

"It's because they are the Chameleons. Have you ever heard about them?"

Memphis closed his eyes for a moment. Brighter than the fire. Fire flowers themselves. Maybe the Chameleons are the answer for his quest. For the fire dandelion.

"Do you really think I care anymore?!" Agapito snapped. "Yes, sister is dead. Yes, I wanted revenge. But now this is the life I chose to lead, and while revenge is still fine and good, that's not why I'm a bounty hunter. So quit your preaching."

...

"Well, I knew there were specific groups, but I wasn't sure of their titles." Agapeto offered.

"So that is your decision? I truly regret it."

Agapito felt something cold and hard pressing against his temple. Something that sounded like gears and chains screeching broke the silence, and a slim light crept in. The door rose higher, revealing the scene behind: a connected room, where Agapeto and Memphis were.

[PHAIL is phail. *shrugs*]

Agapito stared in surprise at his brother. "...Y-you... You said he was dead." He stated coldly, glancing at the corner of his eye at the girl.

"He wasn't." The girl smiled; the gun making a clicking sound. "But you will be."

Agapeto glanced up in surprise at the sound of his brother's voice to see Ros holding the gun, and stood with a start, ignoring Memphis's order to be careful due to him still being wounded. "What... Wait, stop! Don't kill him!" He pleaded.

Rósaszín licked her upper lip. "Give me a very good reason not to." She challenged.

"Tell him." Memphis glanced at Agapeto and said simply, crossing his arms.

Agapeto hesitated, glancing at his brother's green eyes. Whatever decision he had come to, it would be hard to convince him otherwise. He knew how he got. But he didn't want Agapito to be killed, heaven forbid.

He shook his head, then glanced back at his brother. "...Agapito, I know who killed Arianna. These guys have nothing to do with it."

"Are you positive on that?" Agapito questioned. Agapeto hesitated. "...I'm... Pretty sure." He replied, but Agapito's words made doubt begin to crawl about in his mind. It could be possible that since these too were assassins, they were trying to make them think otherwise, to take out a rival.

"Heey, stop wasting time." Ros clicked her gun once more. "Don't think long. Think only on short terms first, pretty boys. You want to live or you don't want to? If you persist on being our enemies, you'll die right here, right now, and that's the end of your story. On the other hand, if you were a little more reasonable, you would see that we were offering you a bunch of chances to join force and kill the enemies, and even another bunch of chances to turn against us."

"So blunt." Memphis commented.

Agapeto glanced at Agapito. He had said what he could say. It was up to his brother now. "Agapito, please." He said softly. Agapito glanced at his brother, and gave a long sigh. He couldn't argue with his puppy-dog look. "Fine. We'll cooperate."

"Now that's what I call good attitudes." Ros announced cheerfully, flipping the gun in her hand. It disappeared without a trace, as if it had never been here in the first place. She then untied Agapito, and offered him a hand. "I'd love to have you under my division! But with that temper of yours, maybe you'll have to go to Vaserfal-"

"Ros." Memphis interrupted her. "No time to chit-chat. They need immediate medical attention. Take them to the medical wing."

He then placed a hand on Agapeto's shoulder. "I thank you for the cooperation. I'm looking forward to working with you." He continued, this time lowering his voice so that only Agapeto could hear, "Please come find me later for the medicines. They help you heal faster, but they have some minor side effects. I figure you would not like to bother your brother."

Agapito didn't take Ros's hand, seeming to pointedly ignore it as he stood, as if saying that he might be cooperating for his and his brother's sake, but it didn't mean that he liked it.

Agapeto nodded hesitantly. "...Right. Thanks for your help..."

"It's my pleasure." Memphis replied.

Ros seemed like she expected Agapito's reject. She wandered past him, then past Agapeto and Memphis, and lifted the door. "Well now, follow me, tough guys. I'm missing a lot of phone calls because of you."
